John U. Clarke was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NATCO Group Inc., a publicly traded oil services company, from December 2004 until its strategic sale to Cameron International in November 2009. Prior to such time, Mr. Clarke was an independent director of the company since February 2000, serving as Chairman of the Governance, Nominating and Compensation Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and a designated Financial Expert.
Prior to joining NATCO, Mr. Clarke was President of Concept Capital Group, Inc., a financial and strategic advisory firm originally founded by Mr. Clarke in May 1995.
Mr. Clarke was a Managing Director of SCF Partners, from August 2000 to May 2001; Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Dynegy from May 1997 to June 2000; Managing Director of Simmons & Company International from May 1996 to May 1997; and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation from August 1993 to February 1995. He was employed by Transco Energy Company from April 1981 to May 1993 last serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and by Tenneco Inc. from 1977 to 1981 in the finance department.
Mr. Clarke currently serves as Executive Chairman of Flare Industries and serves on the Boards of Directors of Penn Virginia Corporation and Glori Oil. Previously, he has served on the Boards of NATCO, Houston Exploration Company, Harvest Natural Resources, Allwaste and a number of private companies.
Mr. Clarke earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Texas and a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University.
